Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:24AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.61%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 1.90%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.99%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.97%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.38%) were among the top gainers.

KCP Sugar & Industries(down 2.90%), Sakthi Sugars(down 2.86%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 2.71%), Rana Sugars(down 2.65%), Mawana Sugars(down 2.63%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 2.30%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 2.28%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 1.90%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.90%) and Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 1.86%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 28.65 points down at 18103.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 87.95 points at 60839.48 at around 10:24AM.

Titan Company Ltd(up 2.27%), UPL Ltd(up 1.72%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.27%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.14%), Coal India(up 0.77%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.77%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.76%), NTPC(up 0.67%), Tata Steel(up 0.49%) and Asian Paints(up 0.49%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.38%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.16%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.03%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.86%), Infosys(down 0.86%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.8%), Reliance Industries(down 0.72%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.58%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.54%) and JSW Steel(down 0.49%) were trading in the red.
