Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:10AM

Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 1.66%) were among the top gainers.

Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 7.63%), Energy Development Company(down 7.30%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 6.54%), Alstom T&D India(down 5.67%), Indowind Energy(down 5.00%), Reliance Power(down 5.00%), Adani Power(down 4.99%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.82%), SJVN(down 4.62%) and Karma Energy(down 4.44%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 82.95 points down at 18116.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 241.34 points at 60825.9 at around 11:10AM.

Infosys(up 1.11%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.77%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.74%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.74%), Grasim Industries(up 0.18%), SBI Life(up 0.11%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.05%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.59%), Tata Steel(down 2.51%), UPL Ltd(down 2.39%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.36%), Tata Motors(down 2.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.18%), Coal India(down 2.05%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.97%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.89%) and Eicher Motors(down 1.85%) were trading in the red.
