Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.28%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Godrej Properties(up 1.61 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 1.3 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 1.02 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 0.49 per cent) and Oberoi Realty(up 0.33 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 2.39 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(down 0.61 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.28 per cent up at 418.6.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 91.65 points at 15966.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 372.46 points at 53514.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GRP Ltd, TCPL Packaging, Hubtown Ltd, Spacenet Enterprise and Hardwyn India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Foods & Inns, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Suumaya Lifestyle, Sintex Plastics Tech and MIC Electronics hit their fresh 52-week lows.
