Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:00AM

Inox Wind Energy(up 5.00%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 2.69%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.76%), Inox wind(up 0.96%), GE Power India Limited(up 0.92%), Energy Development Company(up 0.82%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 0.59%), ADANIGREEN(up 0.42%), Karma Energy(up 0.36%) and Indowind Energy(up 0.36%) were among the top gainers.

Reliance Power(down 3.66%), Suzlon Energy(down 2.61%), RTNPOWER(down 2.08%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.98%), JSW Energy(down 1.94%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 1.25%), NTPC(down 1.07%), SJVN(down 1.07%), Adani Power(down 0.93%) and KPI Green Energy(down 0.83%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 91.9 points down at 17149.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 290.51 points at 57700.6 at around 11:00AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 1.93%), Asian Paints(up 1.89%), Axis Bank(up 1.04%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.49%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.46%), Britannia Industries(up 0.45%), Tata Motors(up 0.18%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.12%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.06%) and ITC(up 0.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 3.62%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.35%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.95%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.72%), Eicher Motors(down 1.67%), JSW Steel(down 1.62%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.47%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.34%), Cipla(down 1.23%) and IndusInd Bank(down 1.13%) were trading in the red.
