Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.58% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

TVS Motor Company(up 1.01 per cent), MRF(up 0.98 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.94 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.93 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.92 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Ashok Leyland(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.58 per cent at 13296.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 122.65 points at 17956.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 423.38 points at 60216.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, JP Power and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Omax Autos, Asian Hotels(E), Sirca Paints, Sarthak Metals and Speciality Rest hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., JFL Life Sciences Ltd., Bombay Rayon, Gayatri Project and GRM Overseas hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
