Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.58% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Punjab National Bank(up 1.75 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.36 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.97 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.89 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IDFCBANK(down 0.59 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.42 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.58 per cent at 40809.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 125.45 points at 18061.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 427.05 points at 60542.18.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DB Corp., Tata Investment, Oswal Agro Mill, Ram Ratna Wire and Bombay Super Hybrid hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JFL Life Sciences Ltd., Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., S & S Power Switch, Debock Sales & Mktg and Dhampur Bio Organics Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
