Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.37% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Tata Consultancy(up 0.96 per cent) and Infosys(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge(down 2.48 per cent), Wipro(down 1.96 per cent), Mindtree(down 1.81 per cent), L&T Technology(down 1.6 per cent) and HCL Technologies(down 1.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.37 per cent at 27708.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 156.6 points at 15482.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 474.4 points at 52057.67.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, IDFC First Bank, Zomato Ltd. and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Regency Ceramic, Rachana Infrastructure Ltd., Globe Intl. Carriers, Kohinoor Foods and Globesecure Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JSPL, UPL, Dhanvarsha Finvest, Arvee Laboratories and Dhani Ibull Ventures hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
