Stock market update: PSU Bank stocks rise; Bank of India gains 1%

NEW DELHI: PSU Bank stocks were trading higher at 12:51PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of J&K Bank (up 1.4 per cent), Bank of India (up 1.15 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.87 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 0.85 per cent) and Indian Overseas Bank (up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bank of Maharashtra (down 3.39 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (down 0.75 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 0.33 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 0.21 per cent) and Indian Bank (down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.41 per cent up at 1512.9 around 12:51PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 21.85 points at 11494.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 36.89 points at 38880.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent. and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indiabulls Ventures (PP), Affle (India) Ltd., Ruchi Soya Inds, Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Elec. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
