Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.37% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:05AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Persistent Systems(up 0.65 per cent), Coforge(up 0.36 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.86 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.81 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.77 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.74 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.65 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.37 per cent at 30232.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 16.25 points at 18634.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 32.59 points at 62714.43.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and HUDCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of HUDCO, Likhitha Infra, MPS Ltd, SBC Exports and Taj GVK Hotels hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, Ishan International Ltd., Nureca Ltd., Jump Networks and Indiabulls Intgrtd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
