Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.16% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:11AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Coforge(up 1.54 per cent), Infosys(up 0.6 per cent), MPhasis(up 0.48 per cent), Wipro(up 0.39 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology(down 0.79 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.44 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.16 per cent at 29814.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 28.35 points at 17576.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 66.8 points at 59264.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, PNB and Ambuja Cements were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Aegis Logistics, Advitiya Trade India, Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd., Siddhika Coatings Ltd. and Vinny Overseas hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Transmission, Heranba Industries Ltd., Adani Green, GTL Ltd and Vital Chemtech Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
