Stock market update: Nifty IT index flat 0.0%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a note on Thursday.

Shares of MPhasis(up 1.52 per cent) and Infosys(up 0.83 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd(down 1.03 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.99 per cent), Coforge(down 0.89 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.29 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.27 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.0 per cent at 28763.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 71.75 points at 18127.35, while the BSE Sensex stood down 241.02 points at 60826.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PNB, IOB and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Omfurn India Ltd., Ultra Wiring Connect, Arvee Laboratories, Goldstar Power and GRP Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ishan International Ltd., Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., Amiable Logistic(India)Ltd., Dharmaj Crop Guard Ltd. and Sula Vineyards Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
