Stock market update: Consumer Durables stocks up; Orient Electric climbs over 2%

NEW DELHI: Consumer Durables stocks were trading with gains at 02:11PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Orient Electric (up 2.41 per cent), Crompton (up 0.71 per cent), Voltas (up 0.64 per cent), VIP Industries (up 0.61 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Blue Star (down 1.42 per cent), Sheela Foam (down 0.21 per cent), Whirlpool of India (down 0.09 per cent), TTK Prestige (down 0.05 per cent) and Symphony (down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 0.27 per cent up at 22953.21 around 02:11PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.85 points at 11446.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 218.95 points at 38747.27.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Tata Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of IRB Infra Dev, Atul Ltd, ABB Power Products, KIOCL Ltd. and ITI Ltd hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., B P Capital Ltd., Megastar Foods Ltd., Modulex Construction Technologies Ltd., N2N Technologies Ltd. and Libord Finance Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
