    Mahendra Singh Dhoni to lead Chennai Super Kings again in the next IPL season

    Indian Premier League (IPL) franchisee Chennai Super Kings has confirmed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will continue to lead the team in the next IPL season in 2023. The Chennai Super Kings(CSK) Chief Executive Officer(CEO) has confirmed today that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will continue as Chennai IPL's skipper and there is no plan to change the captain of the team.

    Dhoni had handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja before the start of IPL season this year. But the team did not do well under the new captain as CSK lost six out of their eight matches.

    But, Jadeja handed overs the captaincy back to Dhoni, as the team did not do well under the new captain. CSK lost six out of their eight matches in IPL 2022. Dhoni took back the captaincy for the remainder of the season.

    It is important to note that Dhoni will be close to 42 by the next IPL. He will be the oldest player in the tournament.
