Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:55AM

Inox wind(up 5.92%), Indowind Energy(up 2.65%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 2.45%), Karma Energy(up 0.71%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.63%), CESC(up 0.32%) and KEC International(up 0.29%) were among the top gainers.

Inox Wind Energy(down 5.00%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.74%), PTC India(down 2.48%), Jyoti Structures(down 1.77%), NTPC(down 1.69%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.60%), Reliance Power(down 1.58%), KPI Green Energy(down 1.55%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 1.54%) and ADANIGREEN(down 1.24%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 183.1 points down at 18237.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 593.48 points at 61212.71 at around 10:55AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 0.72%) and Axis Bank(up 0.22%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 2.81%), SBI Life(down 2.13%), UPL Ltd(down 1.97%), Eicher Motors(down 1.85%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.8%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.79%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.79%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.72%) and NTPC(down 1.69%) were trading in the red.
