Share market update: BSE Midcap index gains; ICICI Securities jumps 7%

NEW DELHI: BSE Midcap index was trading with gains on Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of ICICI Securities (up 6.96 per cent), Steel Authority of India (up 6.51 per cent), Info Edge (India) (up 5.75 per cent), National Aluminium Company (up 5.17 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (up 3.74 per cent), MPhasis (up 3.7 per cent), RBL Bank (up 3.7 per cent) and Crompton (up 3.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While MRPL (down 5.34 per cent), Godrej Properties (down 2.6 per cent), KIOCL (down 2.58 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (down 1.95 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (down 1.9 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals (down 1.86 per cent), Muthoot Finance (down 1.81 per cent) and Bank of India (down 1.43 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.53 per cent up at 13929.42 around 02:00PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.95 points at 11098.2, while the BSE Sensex was 17.94 points at 37669.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, NALCO, SAIL, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
