Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:04AM

Aro Granite Industries(down 2.98%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 2.83%), KIOCL(down 2.37%), Coal India(down 2.25%), NMDC Ltd(down 2.07%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.90%), Oriental Trimex(down 1.19%), Ashapura Minechem(down 1.00%), Pokarna(down 0.79%) and MOIL(down 0.70%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 117.95 points down at 18114.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 382.13 points at 60912.07 at around 10:04AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.44%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.11%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.96%), SBI Life(up 0.33%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.17%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.17%), Axis Bank(up 0.11%), Cipla(up 0.1%), ICICI Bank(up 0.08%) and Asian Paints(up 0.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 3.44%), JSW Steel(down 2.81%), Coal India(down 2.32%), Tata Steel(down 2.03%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.74%), Tata Motors(down 1.73%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.28%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.23%) and ITC(down 1.19%) were trading in the red.
