Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:05AM

KEC International(up 4.42%), Jyoti Structures(up 3.81%), Adani Power(up 3.76%), SJVN(up 3.03%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 2.29%), Energy Development Company(up 2.28%), Reliance Power(up 2.19%), Karma Energy(up 2.07%), CESC(up 1.96%) and NHPC(up 1.95%) were among the top gainers.

Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 3.61%), Indowind Energy(down 1.41%), Adani Transmissions(down 1.04%), Inox wind(down 0.85%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 0.64%), Orient Green Power Company(down 0.55%), Torrent Power(down 0.51%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.35%), Voltamp Transformers(down 0.35%) and Alstom T&D India(down 0.16%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 56.2 points up at 18553.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 239.5 points at 62370.07 at around 11:05AM.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.68%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.57%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.33%), Tata Motors(up 1.28%), HCL Technologies(up 1.26%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.22%), Axis Bank(up 0.99%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.82%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.8%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.77%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 0.94%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.89%), JSW Steel(down 0.64%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.57%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.5%), Tata Steel(down 0.45%), Asian Paints(down 0.41%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.36%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.35%) and Coal India(down 0.32%) were trading in the red.
