Stock market update: Auto stocks up; Bharat Forge jumps 7%

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading higher at 10:47AM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Bharat Forge (up 6.55 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 2.27 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 2.04 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.16 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bosch (down 1.12 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.71 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.51 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.45 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki (down 0.29 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.39 per cent up at 7815.05 around 10:47AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36.60 points at 11345.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 92.2 points at 38461.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, Ashok Leyland and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indiabulls Ventures (PP), Galaxy Surfactants Ltd., Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Alkyl Amines and Tata Consumer Products hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Sumit Woods Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
