    Mallika Srinivasan awarded ‘Businesswoman of the Year’ at ETPrime Women Leadership Awards 2020

    In just its second year the ETPrime Women Leadership Awards witnessed over 2X growth in nominations from companies across the country. The 2020 edition received around 2000 nominations from over 700 companies.

    "The award applauds and celebrates the indomitable spirit of Indian leaders and as I reflect back on my own journey, I dedicate the award to my mother who made me believe that it was possible,” said Mallika Srinivasan, chairperson and MD, TAFE, after being awarded Businesswoman of the Year at the ETPrime Women Leadership Awards’ finale that took place on October 9, 2020.
    This was the second edition of the Award, which has been instituted to recognize top women leaders across different industries and functions. The finale underwent a digital transformation after the pandemic started. All the seven panel discussions as well as winners’ awards were presented virtually online. The highlight of the evening was Meenakshi Saraogi, chief mentor and former managing director, Balrampur Chini Mills, winning the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Global Indian award went to Leena Nair, chief HR officer, Unilever. Ms Nair urged all women leaders to believe in themselves. “Don't wait for the storms to pass, learn to dance in the rain. May our tribe increase!” she said while accepting the award.

    The awards were judged by a eminent panel comprising a stellar jury and speaker panel that comprised eminent CEOs- Aisha de Sequeira (Morgan Stanley), Amit Chandra (Bain Capital), Ashu Khullar (Citi India), Gautam Sinha (Times Internet Limited), Karthik Reddy (Blume Ventures), Rakesh Jhunjhunwala (Rare Enterprises), Rekha M. Menon (Accenture), Samina Hamied (Cipla), Santrupt Misra (Aditya Birla Group) and Shanti Ekambaram (Kotak Mahindra Bank), who was the jury chair.
