    MRF shares down 1.18% as Nifty gains

    Nifty continues to climb a wall of worry as it looks to be in the final leg of its rally before heading for a correction.
    NEW DELHI: Shares of MRF Ltd. traded 1.18 per cent down in Thursday's trade at 12:48PM (IST). Around 365 shares changed hands on the counter.

    The stock opened at Rs 81450.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 81777.05 and Rs 79299.65, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of MRF Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 93855.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 62944.5.

    Total market cap of the MRF Ltd. stood at Rs 33801.91 crore at the time of writing this report.

    Key Financials
    The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 5730.37 crore for the quarter ended 30-Jun-2022, up 6.69 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 5370.83 crore and up 33.99 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 4276.58 crore.

    The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 123.6 crore, down 25.35 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

    Shareholding pattern
    As of 30-Jun-2022, DIIs held 6.21 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 21.93 per cent and the promoters 27.94 per cent.


    Valuation ratio
    According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 53.89 and a price-to-book ratio of 1.96. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
