Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Friday's session.

Sikko Industries(up 3.49%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 1.39%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 1.31%), Coromandel International(up 1.07%), Madras Fertlizers(up 0.81%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 0.64%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 0.56%), National Fertilizer(up 0.43%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 0.34%) and Paradeep Phosphates(up 0.10%) stood among the top gainers.

G S F C(down 2.96%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.78%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 1.66%), Agro Phos(down 1.42%), ZUARIAGRO(down 1.13%), Aries Agro(down 1.09%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.73%), KRISHANA(down 0.52%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.47%) and Rama Phosphates(down 0.46%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 178.2 points up at 18499.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 629.07 points at 62501.69.

Reliance Industries(up 2.73%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.63%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.3%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.28%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.12%), HCL Technologies(up 2.08%), Wipro(up 1.93%), UPL Ltd(up 1.82%), SBI Life(up 1.56%) and Tech Mahindra(up 1.52%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.36%), Grasim Industries(down 0.77%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.6%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.58%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.27%) closed in the red.
