Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:09AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.16%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 3.00%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 1.17%), BAJAJHIND(up 0.53%) and Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers.

Sakthi Sugars(down 7.55%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 7.16%), Rana Sugars(down 5.11%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 4.33%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 3.95%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 3.92%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 3.41%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 3.37%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 3.05%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 2.91%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 172.65 points down at 18247.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 573.25 points at 61232.94 at around 10:09AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 0.4%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.38%) and Axis Bank(up 0.29%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 2.78%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.83%), UPL Ltd(down 1.82%), JSW Steel(down 1.7%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.69%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.68%), Eicher Motors(down 1.65%), Asian Paints(down 1.56%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.53%) and Tata Steel(down 1.52%) were trading in the red.
