Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.07%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Godrej Properties(up 2.46 per cent), DLF(up 2.18 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 2.14 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 1.06 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(up 0.3 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 2.08 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.07 per cent up at 437.75.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 157.95 points at 16641.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 547.83 points at 55816.32.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Pitti Engineering, Shoppers Stop, Archidply Ind, Sree Rayalaseema and Coromandel Int. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tanla Solutions, IMP Powers Ltd, Future Retail, KCK Industries Ltd. and Bajaj Hindusthan Su hit their fresh 52-week lows.
