Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.5% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:56AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Natco Pharma(up 1.33 per cent), Sanofi India(up 1.02 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 0.98 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 0.75 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 3.08 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 3.01 per cent), Granules India(down 2.55 per cent), Laurus(down 1.34 per cent) and Lupin(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.5 per cent at 12618.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 69.2 points at 17826.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 263.23 points at 59842.27.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB, Suzlon Energy and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cool Caps Industries Ltd., Donear Ind, Sat Industries, Radaan Media and Varanium Cloud Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., Jyoti Structure, Omkar Speciality, Gland Pharma and Coastal Corp(PP)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
