Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.43% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.19 per cent), TIINDIA(up 0.86 per cent), MRF(up 0.83 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 1.5 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.15 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.1 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.06 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.65 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.43 per cent at 11442.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 113.85 points at 16741.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 480.45 points at 56298.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Zomato Ltd., Ibull Housing Fin and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Aether Industries Ltd., Automotive Axle, Meghmani Finechem Ltd., Globesecure Technologies Ltd. and Globe Intl. Carriers hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, Debock Sales & Mktg, Future Retail, Shree Cements and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
