Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty fell 69.75 points to 18564.1, while the BSE Sensex traded 254.88 points down at 62714.25.
On the other hand, Arman Financial, Jeena Sikho Lifecare, Tega Industries, IZMO and Indo Count Ind stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.
In the Nifty 50 index, Apollo Hospital, HDFC Life, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma and Asian Paints were among the top gainers on the NSE.
SBI, Coal India Ltd, ONGC, HDFC and Adani Ent. were among the top losers.
