Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.02% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Samvardhana Motherson International(up 1.15 per cent), Bosch(up 0.79 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.7 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.45 per cent) and MRF(up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 1.11 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 1.05 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.29 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.25 per cent) and Bharat Forge(down 0.22 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.02 per cent at 12882.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 12.35 points at 18372.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 36.61 points at 61665.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, UCO Bank, Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tirupati Forge, Skipper Ltd, Vinny Overseas, Arvee Laboratories and Arham Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JFL Life Sciences Ltd., Sintex Inds., Vital Chemtech Ltd., RSWM Ltd and Pokarna Ltd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
