A lot of the credit for this progress goes to Pooja Rajani, daughter of chairman Ashok Rajani.
With her ability to tap the capital market at the right time and taking advantage of the boom in the chemical market, Pooja was instrumental in getting the company relisted on BSE in 2015.
An MBA in finance, Pooja has used her understanding of the market to maximise revenues and expand the company’s market share. Her aim — to boost shareholder value.
And it’s not just business that has her attention. Pooja is as involved in CSR activities — from promoting education to feeding the needy to construction of toilets in villages — as she is in the running of the company.
Pooja joined her brothers Amrit and Narendra to help grow their father’s business, which was set up in 1982.
Amrit, a chemical engineer from Mumbai University, is the chief operating officer of Seya. He has revamped and rationalised the chemical business with his knowledge in chemical manufacturing, specifically in the areas of mass scale commercial production and development of new technologies for increasing productivity and decreasing cost of production.
Narendra, on the other hand, is an IT engineer with expertise in civil, instrumentation and construction work. He has worked towards making the infrastructure facilities of chemical projects world class and automated.
