Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.52%), Aries Agro(up 1.39%), KRISHANA(up 0.26%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 0.17%) stood among the top gainers.

G S F C(down 4.59%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 3.68%), Sikko Industries(down 3.66%), Agro Phos(down 3.39%), ZUARIAGRO(down 3.23%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 2.52%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 2.42%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 2.32%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 2.27%) and Madras Fertlizers(down 1.91%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 18.85 points down at 15780.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 8.03 points at 53018.94.

Britannia Industries(up 1.83%), Axis Bank(up 1.8%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.62%), State Bank of India(up 1.48%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.31%), SBI Life(up 1.31%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.14%), NTPC(up 0.81%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.67%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 0.67%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 4.16%), Cipla(down 3.21%), Eicher Motors(down 3.2%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.53%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.07%), Bajaj Finance(down 2.04%), JSW Steel(down 2.01%), Shree Cement(down 1.93%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.9%) and UPL Ltd(down 1.86%) closed in the red.
