Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.03% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:44AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 1.97 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(up 0.74 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Eicher Motors(down 2.65 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.91 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.78 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 1.58 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(down 1.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 1.03 per cent at 13056.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 110.55 points at 18701.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 381.88 points at 62902.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, BHEL, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., PNB and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Skipper Ltd, Punjab Sind Bank, Axita Cotton, Dish TV India and Raymond hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Indiabulls Intgrtd, Aakash Exploration, FutureLifestyleFash, Ishan International Ltd. and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
