Sensex plunges! Stocks that fell 5% or more

NEW DELHI: The benchmark equity index BSE Sensex closed 937.66 points down at 47,409.93 on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Chennai Petroleum (down 19.97 per cent) , RO Jewels (down 19.70 per cent) , Bonlon Industries (down 13.88 per cent) , Filtra Consultants (down 13.10 per cent) , Astec Lifesciences (down 11.33 per cent) , Atam Valves (down 11.14 per cent) , Sir Shadilal (down 10 per cent), Aptech (down 9.92 per cent) and Umiya Tubes (down 9.89 per cent) were among the top losers.

In the Nifty pack, 12 stocks were in the green, while 38 stocks were in the red.

The Nifty index closed 271.40 points down at 13,967.50.

On the NSE, Fairchem Organics, Jiya Eco-Products, Jump Networks, Valiant Organics and Vishal Fabrics hit their fresh 52-week low.

Cyient , Route Mobile, P&G Health, IFB Industries, India Grid Trust, Bajaj Auto, UPL , CenturyPly, TVS Motor and Apollo Hospital touched their fresh 52-week high today.
