Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi was questioned by the Delhi Police on Friday in connection with an extortion case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The questioning went on for hours, media reports said on Saturday.

She was questioned at the Mandir Marg office of the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing where her statement was recorded, PTI reported quoting an official.

The Enforcement Directorate previously had quizzed Chandrasekhar and Fatehi together in the money laundering case. The questioning is also part of the agency's charge sheet in the money extortion case.

Fatehi was also summoned by the Central agency in October last year. Around the same time, Chandrashekhar’s lawyer claimed that Jacqueline Fernandez was dating the conman.

On August 17, the ED filed a charge sheet naming Fernandez as an accused in a multi-crore money laundering case linked to Chandrashekar.

According to the ED, Fatehi and Fernandez received luxury cars and other expensive gifts from Chandrashekar.

Investigations revealed that the conman had gifted a BMW Car-S series to Fatehi which was registered under the name of Mehboob Khan. According to the agency, Chandrashekhar gifted the car at Fatehi’s request. However, the actress had claimed that she said "okay" to the offer but later said she didn't need the car.

The ED had also questioned Fatehi whether there was an exchange of expensive gifts, which the actress denied claiming she was publicly gifted a Gucci bag and an iPhone 12 at an event that she attended as a chief guest.

However, Chandrashekhar had countered the claims alleging that he had gifted Fatehi four bags of her own choice along with some cash.

Chandrashekar, who is currently lodged in jail, is accused of cheating various people, including some high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh.
