Stock market update: MidCap stocks down; Future Retail drops 5%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a negative note at 01:16PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Future Retail (down 4.98 per cent), Godrej Industries (down 4.61 per cent), Tata Consumer Products (down 3.78 per cent), Varroc Engineering (down 3.4 per cent) and Edelweiss Financial Services (down 3.37 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals (up 3.74 per cent), PNB Housing Finance (up 3.19 per cent), Oberoi Realty (up 2.88 per cent), Rajesh Exports (up 2.53 per cent) and Crisil (up 1.97 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.78 per cent down at 14701.63 around 01:16PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.25 points at 11335.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 11.73 points at 38368.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and Tata Motors (DVR) were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of WABCO India, Granules India, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd., AstraZeneca and Tube Investments of India Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Jinaams Dress Ltd., Virgo Global Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Shri Niwas Leasing and Finance Ltd., Dharani Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. and Aditya Consumer Marketing Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
