Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.03%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.

Shares of TVS Motor Company(up 1.56 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.89 per cent), MRF(up 0.75 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.45 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.38 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 1.66 per cent), TIINDIA(down 0.73 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.21 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.03 per cent down at 12817.6.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 112.05 points at 18165.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 390.02 points at 61045.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 12 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., PNB, Tata Steel and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of TVS Electronics, Homesfy Realty Ltd., Atul Auto, JTL Infra and Generic Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Anlon Technology Solutions Ltd., Nureca Ltd., Chaman Metallics Ltd., Ballarpur Inds. and Nakoda Group Of Ind hit their fresh 52-week lows.
