Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.19% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

TIINDIA(up 5.46 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.19 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 0.77 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.7 per cent) and MRF(up 0.64 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Escorts Kubota(down 2.31 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.61 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.55 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.42 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.19 per cent at 13246.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 108.15 points at 17647.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 390.6 points at 59193.93.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, JP Power, Reliance Power, YES Bank and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Macpower CNC Machine, Celebrity Fash, Sreeleather, Universal Cable and Triveni Turbine hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., FutureLifestyleFash, Bombay Rayon, InvstmntTrstofIndia and Jindal Cotex hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
