Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.8% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Eicher Motors(up 5.78 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 4.87 per cent), Escorts(up 4.59 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 2.81 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 2.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 2.15 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.48 per cent) and TIINDIA(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 1.8 per cent at 10599.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 113.3 points at 15895.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 392.0 points at 53185.62.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ambuja Cements, Zomato Ltd., YES Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Blue Chip India, GSS Infotech, Avro India, Raj Rayon and Zenith Birla hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aditya Birla Cap., Heranba Industries Ltd., Thyrocare Tech., Honeywell and Birla Tyres hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
