Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:30AM

Indowind Energy(up 4.92%), DPSC(up 3.14%), Karma Energy(up 3.00%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 2.58%), JSW Energy(up 1.09%), Inox Wind Energy(up 0.81%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 0.37%), Energy Development Company(up 0.26%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 0.14%) and PTC India(up 0.13%) were among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 4.91%), Adani Transmissions(down 2.63%), Adani Power(down 2.44%), Voltamp Transformers(down 2.42%), Reliance Power(down 1.71%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.67%), KPI Green Energy(down 1.65%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.35%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 1.32%) and ADANIGREEN(down 1.32%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 113.0 points down at 18009.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 378.85 points at 60531.43 at around 10:30AM.

Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.78%), Tata Steel(up 0.73%), UPL Ltd(up 0.15%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.14%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.58%), Tata Motors(down 1.55%), Grasim Industries(down 1.51%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.32%), HDFC(down 1.29%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.29%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.18%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.11%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.07%) and Bajaj Auto(down 1.01%) were trading in the red.
