Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.77% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Federal Bank(up 6.98 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.52 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 1.44 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 1.29 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 1.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.

AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.77 per cent at 39726.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 102.55 points at 17642.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 376.49 points at 59179.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, JP Power, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Macpower CNC Machine, Celebrity Fash, Sreeleather, Triveni Turbine and JIK Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, Jindal Cotex, Bombay Rayon, InvstmntTrstofIndia and Piramal Ent. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
