Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.31% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:40AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Bharat Forge(up 1.55 per cent), Bosch(up 1.54 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.28 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.14 per cent) and MRF(up 0.98 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Ashok Leyland(down 1.69 per cent), TIINDIA(down 0.64 per cent) and Tata Motors(down 0.64 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.31 per cent at 12364.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 198.7 points at 16840.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 730.52 points at 56546.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Tata Steel, Suzlon Energy and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Fidel Softech Ltd., Campus Activewear Ltd., International Constructions Ltd., Kshitij Polyline and E2E Networks hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Spicejet, IMP Powers Ltd, Rollatainers Ltd, GSK Pharma and Bajaj Hindusthan Su hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
