Share market update: Bank stocks up ahead of RBI's policy outcome

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains with its sectoral index higher on Thursday ahead of the RBI policy outcome due today.

Shares of HDFC Bank (up 0.9 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 0.76 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 0.62 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.59 per cent) , ICICI Bank (up 0.51 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 0.44 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (up 0.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.36 per cent up at 21587.8 around 10:12AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 67.00 points at 11168.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 212.98 points at 37876.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, Tata Motors, SAIL, Zee Ent., SBI, ONGC, Hindalco Inds. and DLF were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
