Stock market update: Nifty Media index climbs 2%; Zee Ent jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Media index was trading on a positive note at 11:37AM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Zee Entertainment (up 4.81 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 4.37 per cent), Dish TV India (up 1.9 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 1.87 per cent) and Inox Leisure (up 0.71 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Network 18 Fincap (down 1.48 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 1.36 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 0.79 per cent) and PVR (down 0.38 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.75 per cent up at 1622.1 around 11:37AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 10.95 points at 11481.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 19.32 points at 38920.12.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zee Ent., Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Central Depository Services (India) Ltd., Adani Green Energy Ltd., IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., Hathway Cable and Godrej Ind hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Libas Designs Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
