Let me tell you a story today💡
This is a story about two friends, Anish and Manish.
One fine day, they both ran for 10 km.
Anish finished the race in 60 minutes whereas Manish took 90 minutes to cover the same distance.
Who do you think is more agile and healthy?
You will say, "Anish".
If you now come to know that Anish ran on a smooth track whereas Manish had to run on a rocky and uneven path, you may change your answer to Manish.
Now you get to know that Anish is 55 years old and Manish is only 25.
Ok, it's Anish again :-)
Wait a minute, Anish weighs only 65 kg whereas Manish is 135 kgs.
Then Manish is more agile.
...............
Did you notice what has been happening here?
You are changing your opinions for both Anish and Manish as you get to know them better.
We judge people and situations very early without understanding them completely.
And this is what we do in our investments also.
Do not judge a stock or a mutual fund scheme based on just one or two parameters.
For example, buying based on:
- Past returns
- Some positive news in the market
- Favorable government policy
- A few friends/ colleagues recommended it
..& so on.
Spend some more time and effort to know your investment well.
