TDI price hike helps GNFC gain

#GNFC is the largest producer of TDI in India and faces competition from cheap chemical imports from China.

GNFC produces 65% of TDI and 35% is imported out of the total market share requirement of India.

Berger Paints, AsianPaints, Sheela foam etc are the end user of TDI.

TDI is a chemical used primarily for flexible foam applications including furniture, bedding and carpet underlay, as well as packaging applications.

It makes profits when the TDI price is above Rs. 110 per kg. Liquid TDI Polyurethane Chemical, right now is between 250/kg, Rs 300 /kg.

Its portfolio consists of 65% in chemicals and 35% in agro chem. TDI is in liquid form.

The quarterly profits and the EPS has seen a good growth in the last 4 quarters excluding the Covid Qtr.
