Ether soars 5% after CME announcement
The world's leading cryptocurrency rose on Monday following the announcement that Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group Inc launched Euro-denominated Bitcoin and Ether futures.
According to the announcement, the new Bitcoin Euro and Ether Euro futures will give institutional customers more precise and regulated tools for trading and hedging exposure to the two largest cryptocurrencies. Besides, the contracts for the futures will be sized at five Bitcoin and 50 Ether per contract.
Bitcoin surged 2.80% at 9:46 am ET, selling for $20,090, while Ether rose 5% to go for $1,497 a minute later.
