Saudis rejected US calls to delay OPEC+ output cut - report
United States officials had appealed to Saudi Arabia and oil producers in the Gulf to postpone the OPEC+ decision on cutting oil output for another month days before the cartel agreed to reduce production from November by 2 million barrels per day, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
According to people familiar with the talks, Riyadh rejected Washington's calls despite warnings the US would see such a move as a decision to side with Russia and worsen Saudi Arabia's relations with the US.
Earlier in the day, the administration of US President Joe Biden announced he is willing to work with Congress on reevaluating Washington's relations with the kingdom as a result of the OPEC+ move.
