European gas plunges by 16%
United Kingdom natural gas prices in Europe dropped by more than 16% on Thursday on the latest news on Ukraine and Nord Stream, which contributed to rising energy concerns on the content.
During the day it was announced that Russia will sign a document on the accession of new territories on September 30, whereas the situation around the Nord Stream's recent gas leak is becoming more dominant after the latest Germany's claims the pipeline's damage means there will be no gas in the near future, possibly leading to an economic and social crisis. The situation is becoming increasingly dangerous as, according to recent claims, the Nord Stream could be irreparably damaged.
UK natural gas futures for delivery in October went down by 16.06% to 270 pence per therm at 2:38 pm CET.
