Jawed Zia quits Abbott India

Almost two years after he joined Abbott India Ltd (AIL) as Vice President established pharmaceuticals in an unexpected move, Jawed Zia, quit Abbott for "personal reasons".Jawed had joined the role in June 2018 after quitting Novartis within 15 days of being appointed to lead the Swiss drug company's India business.Andrew Lane, Abbott's Executive Vice President, Established pharmaceuticals said in a statement that Jawed is leaving Abbott for personal reasons.Abbott in the second largest drug maker in India. Ambati Venu, currently General Manager, Abbott India Ltd succeeded Jawed. "Since joining Abbott, Venu has contributed with great impact to the success of EPD, defining strategy to develop the AIL business in India and exceeding the financial commitments for to consecutive years, " said the statement. The company will announce Venu's successor at a later stage.
